Caulyne and I booked this trip approximately six weeks in advance. We knew immediately that we intended it to be a foodie weekend, but simply having a theme wasn't enough - we needed to plan, plan again, change the plans, firm up plans, and finally...live the plan. As a Trip Advisor geek (and destination expert for Colorado Springs), that was my immediate go-to source for planning. Between Caulyne and I, I'm guessing we reviewed menus for at least 50 restaurants. Leaping out immediately was brunch at Tableau, and through much back and forth, it remained a strong contender. We figured we had 3 brunches and 2 dinners to book in advance, as well as some planned drink stops between. We started with a long list, narrowed it to a short list, and finally settled on 5 restaurants. Not an easy task.
The Final Five
Tableau at Wynn
Craftsteak at MGM
Simon at Palms Place
Olives at Bellagio
Mesa Grill at Caesar's Palace
Restaurants Not Making the Cut
Alize at Palms

Once upon a time...
Once upon a time there were two army wives who didn't quite fit in with the political leanings of their peers. Several years later, the former army wives (one former army, one former wife) decided they needed to get together. One from Colorado, one from Arizona. Vegas was the logical choice.
Columbus Day weekend 2009 was thus declared Foodie Weekend. Here's to what we hope will be the first of many!
